Empowering ecosystems: Mercuryo and Tonkeeper’s collaboration
TON, short for The Open Network, is based on the idea of a decentralised and open internet.
October 18, 2023
The platform aims to bring widespread cross-chain interoperability while operating in a highly scalable and secure framework.
TON was created using a technology designed by Telegram, the third most downloaded messenger worldwide. However, it remains a separate, decentralised organisation and has its own team. After a few years of regulatory struggles, the blockchain finally expanded into a massive ecosystem.
In the evolving landscape of decentralised technologies, every TON-based company has unique needs, but one tool remains necessary for the general operations of every single one of them. Be it a wallet, an NFT marketplace, a DEX, or a game — the majority of TON apps are connected to Tonkeeper, the network’s most popular non-custodial mobile crypto wallet.

Tonkeeper boasts over 1,200k installs, 300k MAU, and 500k+ outgoing traffic from the embedded browser
In this case study, we spotlight how Tonkeeper leveraged Mercuryo to solve several challenges.
Challenge
The wallet looked for new ways to monetize users’ traffic. On top of that, the Tonkeeper team insisted that the Toncoin buying process should be straightforward and instant. Quick and easy purchases were especially relevant for new users with little experience in Web3 and crypto.
The high entry barrier, complex model of buying crypto, and consequential lack of liquidity impacted TON’s operational efficiency, and the platform needed a safe solution to multiply traffic and establish new revenue-sharing channels.
Solution
Mercuryo’s integration of its iconic On-ramps aimed to help Tonkeeper, and consequently other projects within the entire ecosystem, provide an easy way to deposit funds, increase liquidity, and boost turnovers.

The On-ramp solution by Mercuryo enables end users to buy a wide range of cryptocurrencies using credit cards, bank transfers, and other payment methods as intuitively as possible.
Currently, the TON ecosystem consists of 551 dApps that, in one way or another, require users to have TON tokens and a wallet to store them. To provide consistent growth, these products need a constant influx of users along with the volumes they bring.
Here are a few examples of how Mercuryo’s On-ramps improve the situation.
Decentalised exchange Ston.fi allows users to swap TON for other tokens. To conduct the swap, users need to connect a wallet, such as Tonkeeper. Let’s say, you need to buy some coin, but you can’t buy it instantly with fiat anywhere else. The Mercuryo and Tonkeeper partnership enables users to easily add TON to Tonkeeper through Mercuryo, connect a wallet to Ston.fi, and swap whatever tokens they want. The platform, in turn, receives additional liquidity due to the influx of new funds from users as they profit from swap commissions
NFT Marketplace Getgems does not provide its users with the option to buy NFTs with a bank card. However, by connecting Tonkeeper with the new functionality added by Mercuryo, you can buy crypto and spend the exchanged TON on NFTs. Thanks to the accessibility of Mercuryo’s support and a convenient flow that allows users to deposit funds in one minute, NFTs can be purchased by anyone.
Telegram users can secure a name of their choice with blockchain and assign it as a link for their personal accounts, channels, or groups on Fragment. However, the online bids for the names can only be done in Toncoin. For users unfamiliar with digital assets, this system often seems too complex.
Besides, people can sell these unique domains and make tangible profits. For instance, the domain ‘News’ was sold on the auction for 994,000 TON, which at the moment of sale amounted to over $1.6 million. Mercuryo’s integration allows sellers to quickly withdraw the funds they get in fiat, meaning they are more likely to use the product.
A launchpad Tonstarter also benefits from Mercuryo and Tonkeeper cooperation. Tonstarter’s users can easily invest in fast-growing projects in the ecosystem, providing liquidity to the platform itself and new projects.
Thanks to Mercuryo’s integration with Tonkeeper, Tonstakers users can receive higher returns on their savings accounts than at their banks. The platform, in turn, also increases liquidity. Users can start earning TON in a matter of minutes just by buying it via Mercuryo and staking it in Tonkeeper. In addition, the staked TON assets will be unlocked due to the unique liquid staking technology implemented in the wallet.
Mercuryo’s on-ramps offer a variety of local payment methods, support dozens of cryptocurrencies, provide a familiar experience for users, and allow smooth and prompt integration into existing infrastructure. On top of that, the Tonkeeper team doesn’t have to engage in any admin activities: from integration to settlements, liquidity, chargebacks, support, anti-fraud, and KYC checks are executed by Mercuryo.
The on-ramps provide a larger variety of fiat currencies, as opposed to only 5 offered by competitors, more payment methods, and cover a wide range of countries. Moreover, it has a non-KYC flow, allowing new users not to pass the verification procedure when purchasing crypto up to 700 EUR.
Implementation
According to Tonkeeper’s team, the implementation process went smoothly and took only two weeks. Mercuryo customised the layout and other details as per Tonkeeper’s request, and the widget was implemented as an iFrame model.
Results
Mercuryo’s on-ramp integration provided Tonkeeper users with a safe, easy, and quick way to buy digital assets and use them within the ecosystem. An average transaction speed in the TON blockchain from clicking the confirmation button to depositing crypto into a user’s wallet via Mercuryo now amounts to 1 minute and 15 seconds. The purchases can be made in a variety of fiat currencies (20 and counting) for any customer around the world.
Mercuryo keeps optimising the TON blockchain to process transactions faster and better. In the near future, Mercuryo aims to facilitate larger deals, increasing the purchasing limits.
Mercuryo’s alternative payment methods will help people buy TON faster and with a better success rate.
When describing the collaboration process, Tonkeeper’s BD pointed out its effectiveness:
